What Is Required
New Jersey requires equivalent instruction elsewhere for compulsory-age children but generally does not require a statewide notice, curriculum approval, teacher certification, or standardized testing. A written withdrawal/intent record is prudent when leaving school, and a district may seek documentation only in circumstances described by official guidance. The companion supplies a complete 36-week curriculum, attendance, work portfolio, progress report, and optional notice without presenting it as mandatory state approval.
